PayCourt – Collection Services

When court-ordered fines, fees, and court costs go unpaid, the Hancock County Circuit Clerk's Office may refer those accounts to a third-party collections service. Learn about the collections process, what to expect if your account is referred, and how to make payments or get assistance.

The Hancock County Circuit Clerk’s Office utilizes PayCourt to assist in the collection of past due fines, fees, and court costs previously ordered by the Court. Any fines and fees that remain unpaid after 90 days, with no active payments being received on a Circuit Clerk-approved payment plan, may be referred to PayCourt for collection.

Pursuant to 730 ILCS 5/5-9-3(e), an additional fee of 30% of the delinquent amount, along with all applicable court costs (including, but not limited to, costs of service of process), will be added to the total amount owed.
