Jury Duty September 14: What to Know Before You Arrive

Jurors summoned for Monday, September 14, 2026, WILL need to report for jury duty.

First Time Serving on Jury Duty?

If this is your first time being called for jury duty, you may be wondering what to expect. Here are a few helpful tips to make your day a little more comfortable:

  • ☕ Feel free to bring a drink, breakfast, or a snack. You are welcome to bring something with you for the morning.
  • 📖 Bring something quiet to pass the time. The jury selection process can involve periods of waiting. Feel free to bring a book, headphones, tablet, or another quiet activity to help keep you occupied.
  • 📱 Bring your phone and charger. There may be downtime throughout the day, although you will be asked to put devices away during certain portions of the proceedings.
  • ⏰ Plan to be at the courthouse for the entire day. You may be dismissed earlier, but because the length of jury selection can vary, please make arrangements as though you will be at the courthouse for the full day.

We know jury duty can feel a little intimidating when you haven’t served before. Our staff will be available to help direct you when you arrive and answer general questions about the process.

Thank you for your willingness to serve. Jury service is an important part of our court system, and we appreciate your time and service to Hancock County.
